Do British expats need to submit a UK tax return?

Watch the video

The deadline to submit the 2021-22 UK tax return is 31 January 2023, only a few weeks from now.

In general there are two reasons that you need to submit a UK tax return:

  1. HMRC ask you to

  2. If you received income resulting in a UK tax obligation

If you’re not sure if you have tax to pay, then there are two ways you can find out.

Firstly, you could submit a voluntary return and ask HMRC to assess your tax liability.

Or secondly, you could contact ProACT to assess your liability and requirement to complete and submit a UK Tax Return.

We are offering 20% of annual tax return service until 10th January or if you have questions you can contact us.
